About Jane Yates
Jane’s formal training as a potter was a BA Hons degree in Ceramics at Bath Academy in the 1980s. She works from home in her studio in Bideford, North Devon.
Most of her work is oxidised stoneware and coiled, using a rich language of glazes developed over the years. Her work reflects the natural rhythms of the rocky coastline. Her pot shapes are inspired by Roman, Pueblo Indian and Arabic pots – she spent her early childhood living in Baghdad.
Her gallery outlets include the Penwith, St. Ives, Torquill Gallery, Henley-in-Arden, the Goalyard, Nottingham and the Waterside, Instow.
