"The final excitement is the element of surprise that occurs in the firing, often with spectacular results, it is this that I strive to achieve."

I enjoy the challenge of throwing very large one-off asymmetric bowls. I pay strict attention to form and design, incorporating details such as a raised foot to give height and interest.
My work is glazed in rich blues, translucent deep greens, thick creams and white. Current work features turquoise, pale green and orange glazes that are splashed dramatically over white. The final excitement is the element of surprise that occurs in the firing, often with spectacular results, it is this that I strive to achieve.

All my work is hand thrown stoneware, turned when leather hard to ensure regularity of form and surface.
