I make raku fired animal sculpture: Penguins, Puffins, Hares, Dormice & more. I use coloured slips and crackle glazes which contrast with the bare clay. I supply galleries throughout the UK & sell through craft fairs. |

Nic Harrison, born 1949.
Moved to Cornwall 1975.
He studied Studio Pottery at Cornwall College under William Marshall 1975 to 1979.
In 1979 he was invited by Janet Leach to work with Trevor Corser and Jason Wason at the Leach Pottery in St Ives, Cornwall. Here he worked as part of the production team and became proficient in making a part of the standard ware range. He was given the opportunity to make his own distinctive individual pots for exhibition at this time, and exhibited at the New Craftsmen Gallery the Penwith Gallery, in St Ives and the Newlyn Art Gallery.
He is a keen member of the Cornwall Crafts Association and helped to set up various Exhibitions at Trelowarren near Helston from 1978. In 1981, Nic was invited by Sir John and Lady Vyvyan, to start his own pottery at Trelowarren. He has carried on in “The Leach Tradition”, making his own distinctive decorative stoneware and porcelain pottery, as well as an extensive range of standard ware.
He exhibits much of his work in his own gallery at Trelowarren as well as using local galleries in Cornwall and the West Country.

After leaving College in 1976 I trained as a production thrower at West Pottery, Devon. For the past 32 years I have been producing work for sale to galleries alongside working as a part-time ceramics technician & lecturer. I now have a workshop set in 6 acres of woodland on the banks of the River Tamar, at the moment I produce a range of raku & stoneware which sells in galleries throughout the UK. I am also member of Cornwall Crafts Association. |

I make functional, slip decorated earthenware by either throwing or hand-building. Each piece is a pleasure to see as well as to handle and use. |
