My discovery of clay was late in life and has resulted in an obsessive compulsion with this fascinating medium. Wall assembled pieces and sculpture are the momentary focus

I make figurative sculpture. Either the human figure or the animal, more normally a mixture of the two! I am informed by mythology and imagination.

My approach is painterly; working with layers of reactive glazes and fused glass, over multiple firings I develop richly brilliant surfaces for tile panels and mosaic.

I produce a full range of domestic stoneware as well as some larger one-off pieces. Pattern and colour are long standing interests, I find oxidised stoneware best my expresive style, as I can combine clearly defined designs with the richness and sublty of high fired glazes. Most of my pots are decorated with brighly coloured glazes on a white base glaze, creating either geometric or free-flowing designs that describe and enhance the form.
