I produce a full range of domestic stoneware as well as some larger one-off pieces. Pattern and colour are long standing interests, I find oxidised stoneware best my expresive style, as I can combine clearly defined designs with the richness and sublty of high fired glazes. Most of my pots are decorated with brighly coloured glazes on a white base glaze, creating either geometric or free-flowing designs that describe and enhance the form.

The basis of my work is a preoccupation with the illusive qualities of narrative suggested by architectural and theatrical spaces. These concepts are expressed in paintings and abstract sculptural pieces through form, colour and graphic elements. After a year in the Theatre Department, I qualified in Graphic Design at the Central School of Art and Design

I make thrown and hand-built forms which seek to explore the relationship between the man-made and the natural. I also produce thrown and press-moulded tableware; principally of an individual nature.

I have a background in Archaeology and find that low fired early pottery is an ever present influence in my work. All my pots are hand-built, slipped and the surfaces burnished to a high polish. The individual patterning is obtained by smoke firing in sawdust.
