Our annual Demonstration day will again be held at our previous venue of the Kenn Centre, this year featuring the work of leading ceramicist Amanda Popham, whose work is profiled in detail in WPA magazine 156, page 9 by Karen Edwards. Amanda studied at the Royal College of Art and is a member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen. Examples of her intriguing work can be seen via the Steam Gallery at Beer, on www.marinehouseatbeer.co.uk and in many other collections.

Illustrated here are:
‘I will bring you the Moon and the Stars’, ‘a Head Full of Twittering’, ‘Bookends’, ‘Four Faces- Six Handles’, ‘Companionable Silence’, ‘Jaunty Hat Jug’, ‘Mother Moon, Daughter Star’, ‘Walking the Cat’ . There will be a small selection of finished work available to purchase on the day, so please bring a means of payment.
Please email our administrator Anna Hearn on admin@westcountrypotters.co.uk to say that you will be attending the Demonstration Day. Anyone who enjoys home baking is encouraged to bring along some homemade cake or biscuits so we can all enjoy each other’s delicious food!

During the day, we will also be holding our annual general meeting from 11.30am, to which all members are invited. Full details of the meeting and committee nominations are available in WPA magazine 156. As well as re-electing our current committee, we have vacancies for a new Treasurer, two Auditors and a social media guru. For all of these roles, training and induction are available and expenses can be claimed at 30p per mile for travelling to committee meetings, which are held usually midweek, 1-5pm once every two months at the Kenn Centre, Exeter. We carshare where possible. Our voluntary committee do not have to pay for annual WPA membership either. We are a friendly bunch and very supportive of each other in our roles to support the Association of now, nearly 400 members. If you feel inspired to volunteer for any of the above, please contact admin@westcountrypotters.co.uk or telephone Lorraine or Martin (numbers in the WPA magazine) for a chat. We would be delighted to hear from you
