** Sorry, cancelled ** Jeremy James, Presentation and Demonstration

Cossington Village Hall, Trivetts Way, Cossington, Bridgwater, Somerset. TA7 8JN
Saturday 16th May, 11.00 am to 4.00 pm approx

Every year I walk round the main display tent at the Bovey craft exhibition, as I am sure many members do, looking at the impressive range of displays but particularly at the pottery. Every so often something exceptional catches my eye. Last year it was Jeremy’s stand with its wonderful array of animal and other sculptures, all full of character and very well made. On talking to him I was delighted that he readily responded to my request to come and do a demonstration for Westcountry Potters although he lives in Derbyshire. Fortunately he has relatives who live in Dorset as well as Exeter connections.

Jeremy trained at Norwich School of Art, Exeter College and Cardiff, studying on a foundation course, a BA Fine Art and then an MA in ceramics respectively. He has been sculpting for 36 years and his work is widely displayed in galleries in Edinburgh, York, Norfolk and Oxfordshire. In addition to being an active practitioner he teaches Art & Design part time at the University of Derby and says that doing so helps to keep him from the complete isolation of the studio.

This is sure to be an inspiring demonstration from an accomplished artist.
Cost will be £15 for members and £20 guests for those applying and paying before 31st March [“Early Birds”]. After that date costs will be £20 and £25 respectively so please apply early.
