WPA Social Lunch 2016

Saturday February 6th, 12 noon for 12:30pm
RHS Garden Rosemoor, Great Torrington, Devon EX38 8PH
See WPA NL 137, P.7 article by Karen Edwards and NL 138, p.9 details from Adrian Bates.

This is our annual social lunch and opportunity to catch up with other potters, in the beautiful location of RHS Rosemoor, where the Winter Sculpture exhibition continues until 21st February 2016. A number of WPA Members are showing at this exhibition.
Much of the spectacular garden foliage may be absent during winter, but this allows the form and structure of the expansive gardens to be revealed, providing an ideal setting for a wide-ranging mixture of sculptures in a variety of media including ceramic, metal, resin and willow.
The area now covers 65 acres, including a range of gardens, a visitor centre, education centre, plant centre and shop. The restaurant is renowned for its tasty food, so it seems like an ideal combination to try for 2016.

There will be a dedicated area for us from 12 midday in the conservatory section of the restaurant, where tables will be laid up ready with cutlery and jugs of water. There will be a choice of three hot main courses (meat, fish or vegetarian options), served with locally sourced vegetables and potatoes. A choice of dessert will also be available, as well as tea or filter coffee. The price for this will be £12.50 per head, with any additional drinks being paid for at the counter on the day. Unusually, we are not required to pre-order our choices but Karen has to notify numbers and special dietary needs by January 30th please.

Due to distances involved, it is not feasible to get everyone to arrive together as a group to enter the garden, so admission charges will need to be paid on the day. This will be £10 per head. (RHS members and exhibiting artists will not need to pay.)
The gardens are open from 10am until 5pm, so you may wish to arrive early enough for a walk around both before and after lunch. If you are an RHS member, you can bring in a guest free of charge, so please could you indicate this on the booking form.

Two Mobility ‘Tramper’ scooters are available but must be prebooked. There is a small additional charge of £2.50 for use of a Tramper, with a £5 refundable deposit.
More information about RHS Garden Rosemoor and the Winter Sculpture Exhibition can be found on the website or on Facebook.
