Issue number 91 - March/April 2008 |
|
|
Eagle-eyed readers will have noticed that Issued 91 is dated March/April and not February/March as would be expected. We have been running a month behind for some time now; a legacy of problems that we had with our previous printer. This re-classification will resolve this disparity and will also mean that there is no overlap of Newsletter at the end of the Association’s year.
Publication has also been affected by the extremely early Easter this year. We had a good Spring Fair with plenty of orders. Unfortunately most of our customers wanted the work by Easter so that we had to pull out all the stops to get it made, fired and dispatched in the time. I’m happy to report that all customers had most of their order in time.
Included in this Newsletter are a number of forms which need filling in. The questionaire will only take a few minutes of your time but it is very important to us and to the oganiser’s of activities and events to find out how we can improve on what we offer. It has been suggested that the Directory should be published on line, but many members do not have this facility and many others prefer the book that we have published for the past few years. Some committee members have suggested that no-one uses it anyway - but how are we to know? Feed back from members is absolutely essential if we are to continue to improve the association and gain new members. Some of you who attended the AGM will have filled in the questionaire already and we thank you for doing so, but that only accounts for one fifth of the membership and we do want every member to have the opportunity to express their feelings and ideas. You don’t have to sign it if you don’t want to.
There has also been a suggestion that we publish the Newsletter online (to save money) This was discussed at the AGM and there was a near unanimous rejection of the idea. However we need to know what those of you who were unable to attend think about this. We also need to know what else you would like included in the newletter. The Anglian Potters Newsletter (which is published on line) contains a lot of short articles and letters which would improve our own newsletter so if you don’t feel that you have the time for a double page spread why not write a short piece on something which interests you.
